In another blow to the Bridport business economy, The Market House public house on West Street is to close. Explaining to The Bridport News, Co-managers Olly Jarvis and Alice Thomas said the pub will serve its last pint on Sunday. They say it just isn’t viable to keep going as running costs and energy bills soar.
Without a dramatic increase in prices the pub just isn’t viable.
A popular location for live music the Market House has helped Bridport look exciting and lively over the summer with seating on the street giving a continental feel.
Olly and Alice are looking forward to a party atmosphere before closing up. From 4pm on Friday and Saturday there will be live music until 10pm and a DJ until 1am along with tapas-style small plates available.
