West Dorset District Councils is offering free parking in some of its council-owned car parks in the run up to Christmas this year.
At Bridport, all car parks will be free on Wednesday 5 December.
Cllr Mary Penfold, West Dorset District Council’s portfolio holder for enabling, said: “We are delighted to offer free parking in our wonderful and unique county town for Christmas shoppers, or those wishing to indulge in our wonderful cultural attractions.”
Cllr Sherry Jespersen, North Dorset District Council’s portfolio holder for community and
regeneration, said: “We hope these free parking initiatives will give a boost to the towns’ businesses during the festive trading period. There are lots of economic challenges facing our local businesses, but this initiative will allow visitors and tourists to enjoy a leisurely shopping experience.”
