Don’t miss the Mapperton summer concert. Guy Johnston (cello) will be performing JS Bach’s first three cello suites and other pieces. Guy is an accomplished international cellist – with a strong west Dorset connection. Here is the programme: JS Bach – Suite 1 “Holy Trinity” in G major, ‘Birth’, Mark Anthony Turnage “Milo”, written for Guy’s godson, JS Bach – Suite 2 in D minor, ‘Death’. Short Interval of about 10 minutes, John Tavener: Chant JS Bach – Suite 3 in C Major, ‘Resurrection’.
Saturday July 7
5pm – Mapperton Gardens open to concert-goers for walks and choosing picnic spots,
6pm – Drinks available in or outside the Sawmill Café,
7pm – Concert starts; 10 minute interval.
