Schools are out for summer, and Dorset’s transport network is set to be busier

With the school year officially coming to a close, the warmest summer season in years, and events taking place across the county; roads and transport are about to become much busier.

Most daytime roadworks on key routes will be suspended for the holidays keeping disruption to a minimum. This is with the exception of work on the A354 in Wyke Regis which has been scheduled outside of term-time due to its proximity to schools and unplanned emergency works which are liable to happen at any time, with little warning.

Camp Bestival and Bestival are also returning to Lulworth Castle where traffic management is in place for both events.

During the current warm weather, make sure you carry water with you and stay hydrated. Do not travel if you feel unwell.

Make sure your vehicle is fit for the road as well. British motoring association, The AA, has seasonal driving advice.
