Interest is building for the summer concert in All Saints Church, Mapperton on July 7. As it is the first concert for three years it is likely to be a full house.
Home to the Earl and Countess of Sandwich, Mapperton is a glorious sandstone manor house and romantic valley garden deep in a lost Dorset combe among tumbling hills and unspoiled countryside. Fifteen acres of gardens descend from the croquet lawn, through the formal topiary down to the wild garden.
Guy Johnston (cello) will be performing JS Bach’s first three cello suites and other pieces. Guy is an accomplished international cellist – with a strong west Dorset connection.
The programme:
JS Bach Suite 1 “Holy Trinity” in G major, ‘Birth’
