BRIDPORT’s Millennium Green is the setting for a colourful celebration of the music, dancing and culture of Rajasthan, on Monday 30th July from 7pm.
The Grand Indian Circus features a supergroup of elite street circus artistes drawn from Rajasthan’s legendary entertainment communities, performing breathtaking acts of courage and bravery. Some of the performers will be seen in Tim Burton’s live-action remake of Disney’s Dumbo with Eva Green, Colin Farrell, Micheal Keaton and Danny DeVito.
The evening also features the Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band Circus, a living embodiment of the dramatic landscape of Rajasthan, which is described as a glittering jewel set in the golden sands of the barren Thar Desert. The band’s performances are a spectacular celebration of Rajasthan’s vibrant and colourful lifestyle, using music and dance to create a heady and hypnotic reflection of this enchanting region.
With a diverse repertoire spanning Rajasthani folk songs, Bollywood hits, spiritual qawwali, Bhangra beats, sci-fi and intergalactice funk, these vividly costumed artists cover the full spectrum of the evocative and joyous music that governs life in Rajasthan.
