The Bridport Local Food Group’s new Bridport Community Cooking Kit was used for the first time recently with the Harmony Drop In group at the Youth Centre. Chef Dom Brown from BearKat Bistro, Barrack Street, worked with Harmony’s members to cook up a delicious shared lunch of Macaroni Cheese with roast vegetables, fresh pesto and salad. Caroline Gamble, Facilitator with Harmony, said ‘Everybody was delighted with Dom’s inspiring session – we’re going to cook pasta with pesto together again this week and are looking at booking a monthly slot with Dom and the Community Cooking Kit’.
Harmony supports mental health & wellbeing and meets for drop-in sessions from 10am-2pm upstairs at the Youth Centre on Gundry Lane on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They can be contacted on 07597 379390 or by email harmonydropin@outlook.com
The Bridport Community Cooking Kit is a mobile resource available for free use by the area’s community groups and schools. Contact coordinator Ines Cavill from the Local Food Group on 07967 106047 or inescavill@googlemail.com
